Today, we hosted our annual new student lunch. This gave our administration and counseling departments an opportunity to get to know our new students in the Middle and High School a little better.
Today was our first “free book” day at MCE Elementary. Money raised from our Scholastic Book Fairs fund this giveaway.

Grandparents Day at MCE Elementary is on Tuesday, September 10.
Grandparents of AM Pre-K-2nd grade will celebrate with us from 9-10. PM Pre-K is at 12:30-1:00.
Grandparents of 3rd-5th grade will celebrate with us from 10-11.
You will be treated to a short program, visit the classroom, snacks, and attend the book fair. Invitations are coming home today.
A great start to the Cross Country season at the Fellows Lake Invitational! Victor Duchscherer medaled with 10th place, Gavin Duchscherer medaled with 13th place, and Libby Painter medaled with 19th place!

If all games are played on Saturday, the rest of the tournament will be Wed., Sept. 4th with game times at 2, 4 and 6.
Due to wet field conditions, the MCE Softball Tournament today is cancelled. As of now, games are still on for tomorrow and a new schedule will be put out this afternoon for those games.

The 2019 Welcome Back MS Glo-Dance is a Glo!
The Welcome Back Middle School Dance is this evening in the cafeteria from 6 to 9. Pick up and drop off are in the circle drive behind the cafeteria. Cost is $5 and includes a snack and soda. A signed permission slip is also required. Dress code applies. Open to current MCE students in grades 6-8 only. Can't wait to see everyone on the dance floor tonight!

Please notice the new traffic pattern in the student parking lot behind the field house. There will be signs and teachers helping to direct traffic the first couple of days. The area closest to the dumpsters is "Entrance Only". The area closest to the propane tank is "Exit Only." Also notice the traffic flow to ease with morning and afternoon pickup and dropoff. Thanks for your help with this.
As school opens tomorrow, please be aware of bus loading and unloading zones in your morning and afternoon commutes. Please respect the laws surrounding flashing yellow and red lights on school buses. The safety of our students is our number one priority in getting students to and from school.
Tonight, the MS and HS Teachers welcomed students and parents to "Meet The Teacher Night". Lots of excitement filling the halls this evening. Looking forward to another exciting year at MCE!!!
